LaFreniere, all rights reservedIn January, I had the opportunity to eat at the Wednesday Casino Del Sol Buffet for free.  While temptation floated around me, I tried to be good and pick out a healthy selection. I had a sausage (not healthy) but also had a slice of the yummy beef roulade with the healthy green spinach in the center. I succumbed to a little carbs by spooning a bit of pasta onto my plate but balanced that with the shrimp ceviche, oysters and a salad.  Pacing back and forth in front of the dessert bar, I finally gave in to a small flat cake but it was topped with fruit so I was half good.  If there was a naughty and nice list for dieters, I’d fall smack dab in the middle between the lists.  I’m improving.  I used to have a permanent residence on the naughty eater’s list. Now I just visit.  Laughing, ok, sometimes a loooong visit.

I know,  I know. Buffets are dangerous places.  Temptations abound.  Luckily it was not the Sunday buffet with the surf&turf, champagne and mimosas.  But I don’t think my free ticket would have covered that anyways.  Although I did read that Mondays is Southern barbeque night so I might be in trouble because I can hear the grill calling me. Yoo hoo!  Mary! We’re waiting…. Don’t be a stranger….

Casino Del Sol’s buffet supper prices changes according to the day, lunches are cheaper I think

    1. I’ve discovered eating heatlhy is a lot like falling in love. Seems easy at first when you’re all gung ho but then it takes a bit of work to make it for the long haul but it’s worth it. Hey! i can use that thought for Thursday’s post. Thanks.
