Quite an imposing, beautiful statue.
I like the new blog layout by the way 🙂
I thought she looked beautiful too.
Thanks on the blog layout. I have more than one blog and you also have visited my Cactus Haiku one. Catz’ layout hasn’t changed recently but I I like the viviness of a photo layout since I take a lot of photos for this one. I’m glad you like Catz’ layout, thank you.
That’s a beautiful piece, my mother would love it, she’s a big fan of the Virgin Mary.
I think a lot of the art around the Virgin Mary is pretty cool too. I agree it’s beautiful
I admire woodcarvings like this. Looks like the hands are the most difficult to do, at least in this case. A beautiful statue nonetheless.
I agree the statue is beautiful. I’m not so sure if it’s not layers of paint that is affecting the look of the fingers. The docent mentioned she used to be painted gold but over the years it changed to a more natural look but the gold underpaint shows through I think
Beautiful!
Happy Times to you,

I thought so too!
Beautiful. I need to visit Tucson one day. Okay, just Arizona in general.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. ♥
Wait! It’s getting too hot. Visit us in the winter and you’ll want to come back again. Of course it’s not actually so bad right now — we just go from air conditioned car to air conditioned building with rapid steps in between. But I do think you’ll enjoy if you do and I’ll be happy to show you around
Beautiful statue of Mary.
I thought the statue was beautiful so too
