Tummy Tuesday : Union Public House

Tummy Tuesday is here!  Add your links to the blog hop below my post.

When you go out to meet up with folks, it can be a little worrisome if you’re on a diet.  Luckily a lot of restaurants are starting to offer healthy choices along with their pizzas and burgers.

Yes, I did look at Union Public House’s regular menu and salivated over their Whiskey BBQ pizza (doesn’t the name just sound awesome) and their sweet honey mustard fried chicken (sighs).

Luckily I was there between 3pm-6pm and they have a happy hour menu that includes food on a little computer notepad menu.  I was good.  I didn’t touch the dessert page but went straight to the Social Hour menu.

And look!  There’s a Caesar Salad ($6) with optional grilled chicken (add $5) nestled between the fries and Mac & Cheese.

So I ordered the Caesar Salad with the Chicken and an ice tea that arrived in a  mason jar.  It was pretty darn good.  They put a lot of chicken on top so it filled me up. When the food tastes good, eating healthy is a breeze.

From Amazon:

Historic Restaurants of Tucson

Food Lovers’ Guide to® Tucson: The Best Restaurants, Markets & Local Culinary Offerings. Only problem with this book is it’s 2012 and I don’t see an updated one. I have it. If you live in Tucson, you can probably find it at a thrift store. It’s also available used on Amazon. Most of the listings are still good although a few restaurants/farmer’s markets have closed and some more have opened up. Check before you go to a restaurant that it is still there or hasn’t moved to the northside.

Tucson Cooks! : 60 Tucson Restaurants Share Their Favorite Recipes and Stories to Benefit The Primavera Foundation Paperback – May 1, 2000
I have this one too. I haven’t tried a recipe yet but I love their titles. This is another one you can get used

    1. I never used to order it much cuz I was likely to head for fried chicken. Now that I’m eating I found out I like it. (Hey Mikey! if you remember that commercial, lol)

Hope you’re having an awesome Tummy Tuesday!
