My Calico cat Pinkie’s Breakfast in Bed

My Calico cat Pinkie’s Breakfast in Bed

7+

I was planning breakfast in bed and put the tray down.

Pinkie immediately leapt up and said, “Hey, you brought me a new bed!”

No more breakfast in bed for me.

Thank you all for wishing me luck on the job search. I did find work. I decided I wanted something physical to compensate for the fact that what I like to do at home is sit on my computer and a warehouse opened up 5 miles down the street. It’s ten hours, four days (Sun-Wed) which I thought would be good as it would give me three days off. I didn’t want to be on a computer all day as I thought then I wouldn’t want to come home to sit on one. And the company has decent medical insurance so that’s a plus at my age.

Of course, at the moment I feel like I’m dying but I figure in a few weeks, I will have some stamina built up (in time for peak season — oh no!) They also have another shift 3 days, 12-hours so later I am going to try to switch as that’s 4 days off. At the moment, no way can I stand for 12 hours. I’m at the oh god, oh god, oh god stage of feet protesting my bright idea but I can tell I am burning calories and hopefully starting to build muscle (don’t know what I’ll do without my batwings, we’ve been together so long, lol). Although honestly, the HR jobs look appealing as they seem to be the only people who get to sit down at all.

In the meantime, had to do all the wordpress updates — boy, do those stack up if you haven’t been on in a while and renew my security certificates. Since I do free ones, they have to be renewed every three months. The paid ones are annual renewals — another temptation. So if anyone visited my blogs in the last week, the expired certificates is why your browser warned you off my site. They’ve been renewed and updated now so you shouldn’t have any problems.

Sorry I disappeared for a couple months but needs must. (I’ll be taking my second quick update off in a week). I am looking forward to reading your blogs. I miss seeing everybody’s cats, writings, photos and life in general. It’s been awhile.

    1. Yep, it’s still Pinkie’s favorite bed. I put out a nice fluffy quilt so hopefully the bribe will work. I am soooo looking forward to breakfast in bed. Crossing fingers.

    1. Pinkie purrs thank you. Well, as for me, I’m happy to be catching up on my bills. I’m getting stronger. Legs can handle the 10 hours now but my feet are still dog tired by the end of the day. Once the feet are happy, I think I will be happy too.

    1. Thank you on the congrats! Pinkie is happy and she still “owns” my breakfast tray, laughing. It’s her favorite bed for some reason.

  2. Charlee: “Good news about the job!
Chaplin: “Except for the ‘feel-like-you’re-dying part of course.”
Charlee: “And as for the tray well you know, that’s basically a box without sides.”
Chaplin: “And you know how we cats feel about boxes!”

    1. Thank you for linking Pinkie. Pinkie purrs thank you too.

I am getting stronger weekly. My feet still hurt but now my legs don’t. The legs are the strongest part of me I think. Back is doing much better too. Gets tired but not longers screams at me like it did the first week.

I am slowly starting to do posts again which is making Midnight and Pinkie happy. They love showing off.

Hope you’re having a great weekend.

  4. Hey lovely, welcome back – those sneaky cats, eh, they think they own everything! 😂 Well done on finding work (and a place with decent medical insurance), it sounds like quite a jolt to the system though so make sure you get plenty of rest when you can. Blog-related maintenance can be a pain, so it’s good you’ve got some of that out of the way (and it shows as secure on my browser now the certificates have been renewed). Hope the week ahead is a good one for you!

    1. Yeah, I do free secure certificates so I have to update them myself. It’s not hard but there are a lot of steps and if you skip one or get one letter wrong, you have to start over. Not something to do when you are bone tired, lol.

Thank you for the welcome back. Yeah, the cats do think they own everything — and you know what? They do! (laughing). Work is ok, tough on the body but I’m starting to get used to it. My feet still are killing me but my legs now can handle it. I got new shoes so hopefully they will make it easier on my feet too. I find I spend one day off just sleeping and I don’t really feel rested until Sunday — the day I go back but I am getting stronger with each week so that should change. You’ll notice because I’ll post more — yay!
