D is for Cat rolling in the Dirt
I swear Pinkie thinks she’s a dog sometimes. The first thing she does when she runs outside is roll in the dirt. And the last thing she does before coming in is, you guessed it, roll in the dirt.
Her favorite spot is a big patch in front of the livingroom window. Drives me nutty.
And if I try to wipe her off with a damp towel, she swipes at me. Not to say, she doesn’t wash it off herself once she’s indoors, she does. But … not before tramping it everywhere.

Maybe she’s just channeling her inner chicken/horse: they do dust baths to get rid of mites, ticks, fleas and other insects 🙂

Oh is that why they roll in the dirt? I never knew that. That’s actually pretty great. Much better to leave those parasites outside in the dust.

Me too! They have such different personalties, it’s interetsing to see how they approach things.
Hahah yep my cat quite likes a roll in the dirt, lying down in it to take a snooze when the weather’s warmer. Two peas in a pod these two xx
yeah, they are. I wonder why they like to roll in it? considering cats like to be clean too.
She looks like she has enjoyed getting nice and dirty in her roll. Both Eric and Flynn loved to roll outdoors in the dirt. Strangely though they always managed to keep their whites sparkling. I never did work out how they managed that.
Yeah, Pinkie love sit but she does not stay white and sparkling like Eric and Flynn. She’s all dusty until she cleans up or I catch her with a damp towel. She runs from me though and is much faster!

We used to walk Phoebe on a harness and she loved to roll in the dirt. 🙂
I’ve never tried Midnight nor Pinkie on a harness. I might try Midnight. He might like it. So your Phoebe liked to roll too? Did she get tangled up in the harness when she did that?
That is a pretty dirty cat after rolling around! She looks like she is giving an angry stare. I’ll do whatever I want to, and you can’t do anything about it! At least she is not rolling around in the ltter box!

Zeke slept in the litter box a few times! Glad he got over that!
Oh wow, it’s a good thing he did get over it. Talk about dog in the manger — none of you can poop here — it’s all mine! Luckily, none of my cats do that. They do their business, sniff a few times and then hop out.
He is well over that, thank you

lol, it’s not mystery. She knows I am going to try to pick her up to bring her indoors and she is watching how close I get before she darts off because she is not ready to go indoors. Of course, the camera does change the equation. I was just taking pics that time. Usually when she’s rolling, I’m trying to catch her to bring her in. She is so mischievous, lol.
